Flying tackles...

Ha ha. Decided to run a lot during soccer today, cos of the abnormal (or ordinary) diet I've had on fri. Ha ha. Too bad none of those runs resulted in a goal. Other than runs, made a few (around 2) sliding tackles today, one resulting in a groin injury to yc. Ha ha. Really sorry, n hope it's alright now! Ended up sweating a lot, which's gd (for me) n bad (for others). Gd: can burn some fats gained over the weekend. Bad: think u should know.

Nice pe session. Just running 3 rounds.... erp. Initially tried to jog slowly the entirely 3 laps, but ended up jogging 2 laps after meeting jo. Walked the rest of the distance back. Ha ha. Great cooling down. Anyway, discovered that I'm more fit being a girl than a guy, since on the boys' weight against height table, my weight was borderline healthy, whereas for the girls' table, I was nearly exactly at the median of the healthy range.

Phy s: quite slack, other than 1 qn at the back, which involves some summation n substitution. Finally learned the difference between the mindset of guys n girls. Guys (me n yk)'d do a qn in a complicated way (like using simultaneous eqns n integration, whereas girls (like liming)'d do the same qn in a slack way. Ha ha. Showed the rest the ipho qns that've to be done... Definitely freaked them out.

Before phy, got chased up from the field by the soccer team, so we decided to play cards (after eating n drinking, of course). Ended up changing only at 5.30! Lucky all the phy lecturers're not very strict (unlike holy n mrs foo, for instance), n mr. loi's quite a lenient teacher.

After phy, stayed on to play cards for a while. Ha ha. As a result, my bro n dad'd to wait for me a while. Then, spotted my bro with kevin n ms! Never know what things of me that my bro've told them. Not that he knows any secrets of mine. Bottleneck effect...

Was quite amused by some of the things that me dad'll get angry about... Today, I just forgot that he changed his hp no with my bro (permanently), n sent a msg to his old no. It's not that it matters much, n it's definitely human nature to be a little forgetful sometimes, when u've other things to bother about (like hw)

End of the first month.... Quite a gd month, actually, even though it definitely could have been much better in many ways. For further details, read every entry this month! Ha ha. Don't think any one'd be that free to do so.

Oh yeah. Borrowed second order notes from jun rong today. Thanks!

A bellamy?

Did half a bellamy today. Din go for ieeeeeeee. Ha ha. Not feeling extremely well yesterday n today.

Registering for ns's definitely a chore. Had to dig out my flexi-curve to make and estimate the required measurements (head, waist, shoulder length).. Can't find a measuring tape! Sian... nvm. Would miss 1 day of sch in apr. Hurray!

Jts

Carnivorous for an evening...

Yesterday: jts at seoul garden, marina. Thanks to all 05s79 juniors for treating us! Anw, got there quite late (at eight plus), due to us leaving the sch late (around 7 pm for some, 7.30pm for a few), the bus taking ages to arrive, traffic jams along the bukit timah road, n us losing our way at marina. Lamed around with vernon, irene w n a few juniors on the bus... think there's sort of a generation gap between us n the juniors. Seniors couldn't figure out the lame stuff posted by the juniors, n vice versa. Ha ha. Then, after getting off the bus, we figured our way to seoul garden. Was stuck at some point, as the main entrance was closed for some construction work. So, we were at the bottom of a staircase, pondering whether to go up or not. Then, some of us walked around the staircase, n spotted another entrance! Ha ha. Others started following us, n it's actually the long way! Nvm.

Finally, made it to seoul garden. Apart from some administrative glitch of the seating arrangement, we settled into our meal quick enough. Ha ha. Din eat much veg (or any veg). Basically, my table just got lots of chicken, pork, some beef, prawns, squid, n eggs. Ha ha. Ordered some soup which isn't that nice, n it din help when we added two eggs into it. Ha ha.

Eating spree! Think everyone's shocked by the amount of food me, wj, jo n qiqi'd eaten, esp in the last hour. We were just cooking large amounts of meat n eating them like noodles. Just too bad that not all of the meat we ate were cooked properly. Too much meat in the cooking pan. And qiqi, after finishing eating, helped to add meat all over the pan! Ha ha. We had to take out some meat in the end to quicken the cooking process. Nvm. At least we finished all the stuff, unless u counted the meat that somehow got into the bottom of the pit. It's estimated that we each ate a few kilos of meat. Whatever. It's not everyday that u get to enjoy nice food from seoul garden (ahem). Had to justify the twenty over bucks paid for each person. Anw, not sure how many photos of our cooking pans have been taken.. looking forward to seeing them online!

Luckily, not much stomachache today. Not much... But still, can't finish my meals. Nvm. Can afford to miss a few meals this coming wk.

Anw, got home very late yesterday (12.30). Ha ha. Waited a damn long time for the taxi. Finally, managed to dial two cabs (1 for jurong west, 1 for woodlands n yishun). So, laura, valerie, anthony n me got into the cab at around 11.40. Sang songs on the ride back, n think we really freaked the taxi driver out by singing the chs sch song! Ha ha. Dropped valerie first, before dropping anthony n laura. Whole ride cost twenty over bucks!

Went for my second band pract in as many wks! Ha ha. Sectionals first, before combined. Haven't taken the section for quite some time, so was a little shaky yesterday for that half an hour. Nvm. Combined: lots of laughter, when mr. leng (our conductor), got niaoed umpteen times.

Only 3 juniors yesterday! That means, if that remains the no., our section is considered quite small (only 10). Think n hope more juniors would come. Last yr, there're only 2 in the first three months! Ha ha.

That reminds me. Found out that not everyone in co would be selected to go for syf. Probably becos the size of the band's much smaller, but I still think that everyone should go for the competition, since it's the ONLY competition any musical grp'd have in the 2 yrs of jc life, n that's the only chance for students to earn some representation n achievement pts for the cca. If even new recruits in the band (beginners who only joined the band last yr) can go, I see no reason why more experienced pple can't go. Just saying exactly what I think here, which's rare.

Sat: finally, watched some cartoons today. Ha ha. Haven't done so for a few wks already. Oh yeah, did I mention that sometimes, when my bro watched ultraman (ha ha) over some malay channel, I would watch with him? Ha ha. Not that I'd be addicted to it, but it's just that I still like to watch some gd guy beating up some bad guy (n possibly vice versa) over the tv.

Din really mug much. Not feeling that gd, so, may not go for ieeeeeee tmr.

Great day...

Finally, a day that's nice.

Chem spa today... think the class sorted of guessed what'd come out. Ha ha. Thanks hf for asking the qn to mr. lee, n thanks mr. lee for explaining it to us. Anyway, mr. lee talked about some students writing so much for safety n reliability: 1 page each. Think I'm going to freak him out (if he hasn't read my script), as I'd 9 reliabililty precautions, n it covered more than 1 page.

Anyway, interesting sporting sessions after sch. First, table tennis at chs. Went with jo, yk n gloria. Initially thought of playing at the tables near the canteen. But, can't believe so many of our juniors from the high sch side're there! Sian.. we just stoned there, chatting n doing nothing. Then, had a tour of the sch. Went to the table tennis room, even though we thought we won't be allowed to play there. The lights were not on, when we passed by that place. Then, tried opening the door... It opened! Ha ha. Played table tennis there a while, singles first then doubles. Quite fun, then the other pple started calling us to say that the juniors were dismissed already! Ha ha. I totally ignored my phone placed in my bag, n jo answered a few calls, before ignoring the rest too. We continued to play for around 30 mins before making our way back.

Then, soccer. Seniors vs juniors. As the seniors'd fewer pple, qu kui joined our team first, before their team started diminishing in numbers. Great game! Din let in any goals, n created one for yc, who got THREE goals! Wj n jo rounded off the finishing, but it's the overall class effort that's great! Joel, yc n jo's attacking rox, while wj, ws n yk's defending's wonderful! Looking forward to more soccer sessions like this!

Chem s after that. Got sian after waiting to sign my name for such a long time, so just helped most in the class tick their names. Ha ha. Basically, lecturer just went through some qns. When he decided to ask some of us to present our work, we got a shock when he turned to the page of the list of pple which's most of our names (except ms's). Ha ha. Luckily, he din call us. Some guy pretending to be lim teck actually went up! Btw, the guys were commenting what'd happen if wj's work got displayed on the visualizer... End of session after 2 hours. Sigh... Hungry, cold n tired...

Some announcements:

1. 04s79 peeps, pls wear class polo t-shirt for jts tmr.

2. A 5 yr old boy in critical condition in nuh's in need of A+ blood platelets immediately. NUH ward 40 (icu ward). Ask for mr. Adnan.

3. Don't forget to prepare a list of qns about plants for mrs foo tmr. Bring ur laminated sheet of definitions!

Pass down the msgs. Thanks.

Anyway, kind of surprised n a little shocked by so many qns asking who my ___ 's. Ha ha. Just want to say: don't waste your time guessing wrong ans to some virtually non-existent n definitely non-significant qn. There're other better stuff to do, like doing hw, learning second order de.. basically, mugging.

First session

Boring soccer during break. Three vs two.. sian. Scored a freak goal, but overall, not that fun. Need more people!

Btw, tmr table tennis session after sch at chs. Pls bring along ur pe attire n a table tennis racket! You can always beg, borrow or steal though.

First session of olympiad training today at nus. Left after 1 period of ct, which was taken by mrs lim, the affective consultant of apollo, i think. She's late by 20 mins, n just talked stories n guessed the schs of non-chs guys before I left. She had a student before who was chen yang's son.. not bad. Anyway, as usual, the class's quite quiet. Ha ha.

Made myself out of the sch after 1 period, n went to nus. Saw gloria, liming n jo with mr remedios near the field, n since i was half an hour early, decided to join them. Ha ha. Nice powder fight! And congrats for having a successful competition!

Then, olympiad training. Sian.. standard a little too high... quite high.... very high.... very very very high... extremely high.... Involves some second order differentiations, n formulae which i've either forgotten or never learnt before. Nvm. Time to brush up my maths. Basically, we just tried a few qns on mechanics, n since I din know how to do most of them, I just copied down the solutions on the board... Ended at five, reached home before six. Good, considering that band only ended at 7...

Jts this fri. Seoul Garden. Nice place!

Went up onto the bridge after morn assembly today. Ha ha. Nice feeling to look down at 1800 plus pple. Got to know how those pple up there feel every morn, n it's indeed great to hear so many pple clapping, esp from my class n the band. Ha ha. Thanks!

"Not too bad"

To quote mr. remedios, today's not that a bad day. Double break for soccer, early dismissal for soccer with juniors, got waves tutorial (ahem), nice gp lesson when we got to play taboo (made 1 right guess, n got to be the time-keeper for a while - squeezing that purplish thingy's fun!). Not a bad day... ha ha.

Just too bad that other events made this a not-very-memorable day. Freak game during soccer.. conceding goals on many one-on-one situations, n let 1 long-range strike from cheng yan roll in! Sian... Luckily, scored once during a break, n did ok for defending when yk or wj became keeper. Anw, thanks jo, gloria n liming for the free drink! And all the best for the rocket competiton tmr!

More on soccer: juniors vs seniors, with the seniors being quite handicapped without jo n joel. Nvm. Don't think we got hammered. Was impressed with marcus's goalkeeping skills, considering that i heard his leg's injured... Anyway, the seniors were given a free license to ram the ball home, since if we missed, marcus would pick the ball for us.. ha ha. We're aiming the green goalpost, not the one at the steps.

Chem tutorial: not enough tables at the back row, so was forced to sit in front with shen qian. Ha ha. Not that I don't feel comfortable sitting beside the prc. Just that there're less chatting n less fun compared with sitting besides the other guys.

PIssed off my mum (real one) for playing soccer after sch again. Not that I really care, actually, since I've been doing this for so long, n it's not that i'll neglect my sch work becos of soccer. Whatever. I even forgot that today's my father's birthday (again, real father!). Remembered it last night before sleeping, but was too tired early this morn (woke up at 5.30!) to think about it. Only remembered it when i started writing the date down for one of my assignments or ws (gp ws, i think).

Registering for ns.. sigh.

Flying in v-shape... (modified on tue)

Ha ha. Applied physics to pe today. The bunch of us (yc, andrew, ws, qi qi, n me) were jogging in some sort of a v-shape, one after the other.. ha ha. Can reduce drag force! Though most of the times, the formation's... er... not there, it's still a nice run. First time I din stop when running two big rounds, unless u count the time that I tied my shoe laces... Anyway, ha ha. Jess din run in pe today. And gloria actually forgot to call her!

A little taken aback by jo after pe. He asked me qns which I've no idea (ahem) what he actually wants... Then, somehow, he brought up my two packets of drinks... Ha ha. Btw, if I like 1 of the packet drinks, if it's not cold, I won't drink it, since there's no point; even if the other drink's cold, n nice for drinking, if I don't like it, there's no point drinking it.

Anyway, interesting break today... From a soccer club to a mugger club, since most of us haven't done the chem s qns, n that's the only time we can do them today... so, think this is the first break of the yr in which I actually did some hw... I think. Or maybe, one of the rare times. Can't believe the price of the chem s booklet! Ha ha. And i think physics'll cost even more.. sigh.

Two practs to finish today... sigh.

Just insulted rjc over msn. They actually had no gold medallist for chem o!!! And think we'd one more gold than them for bio.. ha ha. That means, for the overall 3 sciences, we actually beat them!!! Hurray! And we could have beat them in physics if we'd sent in more pple....

Placed a riddle in the class diary. Here it goes (just the essence: not much crappy stuff here):

After the flood, Noah brought the animals to some remote place, and they tried to live happily ever after. So, animals started giving birth, until they've large families. However, a pair of snakes just couldn't give birth. Noah asked them if there's anything he could help. The snakes said: just chop down a few trees, n let us live there. So, Noah did this, n presto! There are more snakes. Noah then asked them how felling of trees helped. What did the snakes say?

Btw, assume that snakes can talk to humans.

Phy lect today: ha ha. Guest lecture by some prof chan (hope I got the name right), who came to tell us more on tsunamis. Don't think many of us were actually paying attention. We're writing letters, reading bks, thinking of ans to riddles, n so on. Got scolded after that. Again, don't think the situation'd ever improve in any subsequent guest lectures...

3 straight losses

Ha ha. Three straight losses for liverpool... they're now even closer on pts to west brom (the bottom team), than to chelsea.. They really have to buck up fast, or else everton'll be fourth, n that's what no one from my class wants to see, right?

Din really do much work today... Sigh. Could have done more on any other day, but.... nvm. Read magazines, the leadership booklet given to us last yr, other bks etc... Nice afternoon nap also. So, a slacking weekend. Weekends should be used for resting, slacking, and having fun. Ha ha. Looking forward to jts next wk!

Oh yeah.. not just liverpool having consecutive losses... Spent some time last night playing pool on yahoo games (think the gathering last sun sort of kindled my interest in pool). Ha ha. Got hammered. Lost one game 7-1, when that pro guy just started ramming in all the balls. The only ball of mine that gone in's courtesy of him: he hit the black one in, n somehow, the white ball rebounded into one of my balls n knocked it in. Ha ha. Spare myself from the ultimate embarrassment...

Can't believe that there's no scholarships available for medicine overseas! Ha ha. It's really time to start thinking of what I want to be after sch...

Tmr have to reach sch by 7am!!! Ha ha. Flag raising at chs again... nvm. Since I reached sch quite early every day, shouldn't be a prob... but, waking up so early isn't gd.

Arsenal'll lose to newcastle later on!! Two straight losses for them... n third place!!

SAT...

Sat.. not bad. The standard's kind of expected: difficult verbal, and a maths section that's.. er.. have to choose my words carefully. Some interesting qns that need some thinking, n many others which're quite fun (though sian after some time) to do. Yeah.

Registering online isn't gd after all. Messed up my last name for my first. End up writing "Yi-Fu Jeff Hwang" as my name.. stupid, right?

Sitting in the 13th row, near the entrance to the hall. Ha ha. Talking about bad luck. Though I enjoy having some nice natural breeze, my things started getting flown away: admission tix, answer booklet etc... sigh.

And can't believe that one of the instructions's to put away our pencil case!!!! Ha ha. Only pencils n erasers're allowed. Quite doltish.

Who went: me, yc, gloria, laura, yf, yun tao, shen qian, luer, n grace from the junior class. Saw many others too, like jun yang, qun xian, qi qin, n even ying liang, who's currently in rj.

So, sat ended, n I had lunch with qi qin, gloria n laura. They'd biomed later. Ha ha. Hope they enjoy it!

Friday, January 21, 2005

Hari Raya Haji...

Public holiday today: first since sch starts. Ha ha. What did i do? Finished vectors tut 1, n studied for sat... sigh. Sad life.

Tmr, sat. Ha ha. Good luck to those who're taking it! Still haven't printed out that admission ticket... Nvm.

Not much to say, just that I only realised (or remembered) last night that the class diary's with me! Ha ha. Anyone who wants it can get it from me in sch. Think I'll bring it along, if I remember...

Thursday, January 20, 2005

Crappy stuff at home...

Though they say: home ugly cannot outside spread, nvm.

Spammed my bro today when both of us were online. Ha ha. Caused his comp to hang... think he's a little pissed off. Nvm.

Few days ago, woke my bro up when he's already asleep at 11 plus (pm, that's). Told him that it's already six, and he'd be late if he din get up... he really got up!!! Ha ha. Think he's too tired to shout at me or something.

Messy desk, messy floor, messy bag... Ha ha. Shall clear up when I've the time...

Rapid change...

Decided to change my s-paper combination from maths-chem to phy-chem today. Ha ha. Probably cos phy's more fun than maths, n I felt sian just at looking at that tutorial sheet. Nvm. Though the s-papers haven't started, changing the combi involved so much admin work n explaining to do. First, me n yk looked for mr remedios, who referred us to mr tan yew meng, who's the one i/c of s papers. Then, mr. tan demanded to know the reason why we decided to change to phy only now, and not immediately when the results are out. Sigh.. then, he got us to think about it again, and we waited until ws's done. He got his bio s! Ha ha. The only 1 in the class! Congrats! Anyway, when we still decided to change to phy, he made us to type a letter! Sian... went to the nearest comp lab. We thought we'd to use our new user i/d to log in, so we ran down to the class bench to get yk's password. Then, it still couldn't work! Looked for the lab tech after that, who told us that the user i/d's B219, n there's no password! Sian. Bloody waste of time. Typed out the letters. Managed to print mine, but the comp that yk's using isn't connected to a printer! So, had to retype his letter on my comp. Ha ha. Whatever. Whole thing took more than 1 h to settle. Lucky we still managed to get what we wanted... Think next time, if any one wants to choose which s papers to take, pls think carefully!!! Thanks yk for accompanying me! I do hope that I don't get into trouble for claiming that I'm afraid that cca'll clash with s paper, so i din choose phy...

Maybe the reason why I chose maths first's that I din carefully enough. Ha ha. Then, heard lim teck (7A) say that maths's very hard to score a distinction. Mainly prcs get that, n, to quote him, the s6s are taken in to lower the standards. Ha ha. Nvm. Maths s's quite hard. Very hard. Enjoy maths s!

Pissed off my dad as a result, as he's been waiting for 1 plus hour. Luckily, no thunderstorm. Thanks, n sorry laura for waiting so long.. Ha ha.

Chem class test... ha ha. Some hard qns (geometric isomerism for saturated compounds...) n carelessness means i only got about 60 over percent. Nvm. Not counted. Chem lect test.. ha ha. The teacher just took some mcqs from tys and let us do. How slack!!! Chem lect: beginning part's quite interesting, though a little fei4. Was playing with some toy (flexible n bendy blue thingy) with vernon n yk.. Crapped a lot with yk about vectors: scalar product for instance. Think we really freaked vernon out, who's sitting at the middle.

Realised that band ended quite late yesterday, around 7, while I reached home from micron at 6.30! A little guilty.. nvm.

Man Utd finally beat exeter... Ha ha.

Great news: Abramovich's involved in some lawsuit, and his assets in chelsea may be frozen. Ha ha. Really do hope that happens, so that chelsea'll collapse immediately, they'll hopefully be in some debts, n they'll be forced to sell players to robben like rival clubs like man utd. Ha ha. Then, chelsea'll go down, n man utd'll go up!

For a rare time, din play any soccer match today. Got chased up by a pe teacher during break, n had to settle s paper matters after sch. So...

Olympiads

Results for all 3 olympiads are out (at least, sent to sch already). Got a bronze for phy, which's not bad, considering that I din even expect to be in the final squad. Anyway, had the prize presentation this afternoon at micron, 990 bendemeer rd. Not bad. Hci got 3 hms, 6 bronzes, 4 silvers, n 2 golds, with zhao chong winning the best individual performance, n da wei winning the other one. Sigh.. rj won the overall best college team, cos they sent in more pple. They had like about 10 pple getting hms. Anyway, the results for the other 2 olympiads are out already, n have been sent to the schools. Heard we've 5 golds for chem, which's very very good. Wei jian got a gold too! Congrats! Sheng Rong got 2 golds n 1 silver for the 3 olympiads! Ha ha. That's even better than lim yi fan.

Anyway, some short spells of soccer today. 10 mins during break, n 5 mins just before phy.. Erp. Scored with a nice blast from close range, but otherwise, a dull game.

From micron, initially wanted to take 133 to amk first. Then, noticed that bus was getting into cbd, which din seem right. So, just dropped off at bugis mrt, n took the mrt. Not bad.. reached home even before band has ended on wednesdays.

Year book... some lousy editorial team, who failed to correct mistakes in naming the exco for council, n din change some guy from a member to a secretory in the board of governors. As if we care whether that guy's a member or secretary or not.

Upset of the tournament... Traore scored an own goal to hand burnley a 1-0 win over liverpool. Ha ha.

Enough crapping.. time to start revision of chem tests tmr.

Soccer with juniors

Some intensive soccer today. Played during both breaks n after sch. After sch: with juniors. Tough game. Let in 4 goals (i think).. sian. Nvm. Think the seniors've to get our tactics right if we want to beat the juniors. They're definitely quite skillful n pacey... bad combination. But we can still beat them! Cos.... 04s79 rox!!! Ha ha.

Andrew's bday today. Was the last to write in his bday card, since I'm always sitting beside him for most of the lessons. Then, during the second break, went to the balcony (void deck) on the second floor above the class bench to write, since it's just not wise to write on the class bench. Ha ha. Thanks liming, ws n any other person who bought the drinks, designed the card (that's yc, right?) n bought the cards. Andrew, enjoy ur bday, k?

Quite amazed by the nice overall layout of sbs website. Easily found where micron's. But, journey back home's horrible. Have to pass by amk first n transfer to mrt. Whatever. I'll still reach home earlier (i hope) than on normal wednesdays after band. Looking forward to the prize presentation! I'm happy with anything, even an honourable mention, since I'm already amazed that I can actually rep hcJC already in a comp dominated by prcs...

Nice chat with my band juniors (jian hui n yi liang)now. Niaoed justin a bit too! Showed them the art of spamming. They'd my bro for lunch, n said that he tasted jeffish... interesting remark.

My juniors've started spamming!!!

Bio tutorial today: mrs foo reprimanded us for not going back to go thru the eco mcqs. Ha ha. I only just marked finish before she checked our work, and wj got niaoed cos he's not fast enough. Ha ha.

More crap...

A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was:"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure...

In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

And in the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

Crap

IE just quit for nothing, so have to re-type my entry... sigh.

First time playing at chs for morn assembly today (since i've graduated, that's). Not bad, considering that we din mess up n embarrass ourselves. Only taught the rest of the section (except jun rong, of course) how to hold the instrument properly, how to stand at attention, n other commands. Ha ha. Quite glad that we're quite together as a single band. Persistently being niaoed by my juniors (about my height for instance). Ignored them, since we're standing at attention, n they should take note of that too. Whatever. Nice to see them again.

After captain's ball (right after pe), which was fun, slacked around before going for band 30 mins after lessons've officially ended. Gave some excuse like having to cool down n warm up. Nvm. After band, waited at the bus-stop. Chatted a bit with liming first, before chatting to mr. so (band teacher i/c) for quite some time. Then, spotted the only clarinetist who came down for tuning-in, but her bus just arrived. Ha ha. Not a bad wait at the bus-stop.

Talking about suspense... phy o result's only released on the prize presentation ceremony this wed. A little jeffing, considering that last yr, our seniors noe their results in DECEMBER!!! Ha ha. Whatever. Missed another band pract lor.

Fun, n disaster

Class outing today. Turn-out rate's not bad. About... 6 seniors? With many many more juniors. Who went (in order of arrival): yc, me, wj, joel, ms, ws, jess. Yeah. Think that's all. Where're laura n vernon, who mentioned they'll be going before today? Ha ha. Met for lunch. Quite surprised that some of the juniors wanted to go food court for lunch. In the end, only a few bought from food court. The seniors bought fast food, and the rest din eat. Ha ha. Played pool after that for quite some time. Considering that it's my second time playing, not that bad. Hit some balls in, made a nice comeback from 4 balls down, won qu kui by chance (he shot the black ball into the hole by accident... ha ha.) Qu kui got despised to some extent, as he kept on hitting white n black balls into the holes. Ha ha. Anyway, nice day of pool.

Btw, alcohol can remove nail varnish... k. Thanks ms. Shall try to get some ethanol from the lab... somehow.

Went to have tea (or lunch for some) at bk later on. Crapped a bit with them. Finally knew who my angel's. Ha ha. Thanks to those (joel, wj for instance) who din expose my identity. Shall get back at him for calling me "gay".

Then, we went heeren's to buy a gift for pei yi (hope i got the name right). Disaster struck. We're at the bottom of an escalator, deciding on which level to go. Some of us (like me) were blocking the way, so we moved off. I moved to the side, where the railing's, and decided to lean backwards. Then... u noe. The strength of the escalator's amazing. Luckily, my jeans's still flexible enough, and I can just manage to bring myself down. Or else, I'll be stuck somewhere at the middle of the escalator, where the second floor comes close to the railing. Whatever. Lucky escape.

Heeren's. Went to an optician shop first to look at shades. Then, everyone got separated. Somehow. Stayed a while with a few of them, ws, joel n wj, before going home before dinner.

Definitely pissed off my parents today, esp my mum, since they're, n still are, opposed to me going out. Ha ha. Nvm.

Moving on...

Proud to be a Singaporean, though I will be even more proud if casmir, dickson n bennett aren't in that team.

Anyway, great news from epl. er.. some of them. Chelsea won (SIGH), arsenal lost (GREAT!), n man utd's just a pt behind arsenal. Think the title's all for chelsea to lose now. Nothing much arsenal or man utd can do to stop them except to win every match, n hope chelsea got hit by injuries.

Mugging day...

Crap. Mugged the whole day. Woke up, had breakfast, mug. Had lunch, mug. Had tea, mug. Had dinner, mug... Finally got to slack a bit at night. Sian... Pissed off both my parents yesterday. Mum's not that happy about tmr's outing, cos of next wk's sat... Parents're always so so worried about tests. Whatever. So, mugged the whole day. Hopefully, when I told them that I'm going to go out no matter what they say, they won't be so mad.

So, what did i done today:

1. Solubility (completed)
2. First order diff eqn (both tuts), except one part of a qn, when i've no idea what a complementary function's.
3. Fluids: the third
4. Bio pract
5. Revised sat.

Not a lot of work completed, right? Can't find much more to do, so, that'll do.

Man Utd leading one-nil now! Woohoo!!! Go for it!

Gravesen moved to real madrid... poor everton. Ha ha.

Nail varnish's still there!!! Sigh...

Friday, January 14, 2005

Not a bad day...

Sian... Couldn't remove nail varnish from my fingernails. Ha ha. Thanks yong kang n yc for polishing my thumb nails for me, though the coating isn't even!!! Whatever. Now, have to wait for two months for them to wear off... Then, my leaves aren't coated with enough layers, n ms ong said that it's lucky i'm not born a girl.

Not a bad day, actually. Had some fun throughout the day: soccer (blasting goal-kicks, clean sheet during the second break), basketball after school (managed to block a pass from jiayi just by raising my hands lazily... ha ha), band pract (eh... more than 10 clarinet juniors sign up, but only 3 came today). Again, concentration span during tutorials n lects're still quite low. Whatever.

After basketball, was quite drenched in sweat. Quite difficult to play 2 against 4, even though it's only for a while. Who played: 3 juniors (2 from our junior class), jasmine, jiayi, yk, vernon, me, n a friend of jasmine n jiayi. Who against who: mainly all 04s79 pple against me n the rest, though i think chong guang joined my team later on. Then, for the last five mins, many've left, n it ended up as me n jas n jiayi's friend against yk, vernon, jas n jy. Ha ha. Still managed to score. Not bad.

Saw some pple got niaoed by mr. so this morn for being late for band, inc my clarinet sl. Ha ha. And they said they're going to lock the band-room door at 7.20am from tue onwards. Those late-comers won't be able to play n earn cip hours. Ha ha. Shouldn't be a prob for me, since I reached sch very very very very early.

Withdrawal symptoms?

Once u take a drug, u'll want a second.

Once u take the second, u'll want a third.

Once u take the third, u'll want a fourth.

(Once u're a guy, u'll always be a proper guy)... Erp.

This goes on n on, and when u stop taking... withdrawal symptoms!

Horrible...

Damning. Failed to go online via mac messenger now. Some techical prob... Sigh.

Felt totally horrible for the past two days. Din listen attentively during lectures, din pay attention during tutorials (except bio, of course), din mug in the mornings, which's quite rare, din update my blog. Sigh. Even left halfway during phy lect for a ten min break, chatting with 1 bandmate (michelle) outside the bandrm for a while. Whatever. Couldn't pin-point any reason for this.. maybe faking 2 bio tutorials is the problem... very tired to redo the qns by copying some ans n marking them afterwards. Misplaced two of my bio tutorials, so, have to redo lor. But, mugging can't be the prob, right?

Probably the only things that've kept me alive's crapping a lot during lessons (chem pract, for instance. Me, vernon n yk're doing the assignment together. Joke a bit at the same time), soccer (nearly every break), n cards in the mornings (late for band as a result). Never mind. Normal service shall resume tmr, or so i hope.

Still can't go online!!! Mac messenger, e-messenger all failed!!! Woohoo.

Finally got a reply from my mortal (my angel's still slacking). What I wrote to him: "if u continue like this (mugging every break, doing maths lect examples bef lessons have even started), u'll end up like jeff, weijian or even yong kang." Ha ha.

Din go k-box today, since time doesn't allow for many pple to go n enjoy thoroughly, n too much funds to be paid in recent times. Instead, played soccer for a while with yk, yc, wj, ws, joel. Joseph was watching from the railings. Then, after a while, he came down to sit at the top of the terraces. Finally, after some time, he joined in the game! Talking about itchy legs. After the game, watched a crappy game at the middle of the field between some other guys n girls. No running, no passing, no tactics, no diving keepers... Ha ha. Just like watching a comedy. Freak goals being scored at both ends.

CCA orientation yesterday. Played once, better than tue, but still made several stupid mistakes. Then, stayed on to watch co performance, before going to lt3 with gloria for some other performances. Just missed string performance! Sorry, laura. Watched guitar n huang cheng too, before going off to find other classmates, n visit the booths. Went to check on women's soccer. Ha ha. They've a flexible schedule.. Not bad.

Got pissed off with my bro lately. Sigh. Temperament!

A day to forget?

Crappy day. Missed a simple goal from two yards, played some crap for band.... Whatever. A little frustrated by the end of band pract (or rehearsal), but nvm. Just wanted to get out of sch asap after band. Ha ha. When things're just not going your way, escapism seems to be quite a good solution, right? MOVE ON!!! Don't be doltish.

Anyway, this yr's test answers're full of controversies. Ha ha. First maths lect test. Now, chem class test. 40 percent off just becos the qn din state explicitly whether pressure remains constant or not. Whatever. Those marks aren't counted, n if u noe u can get the qns right, n ur concepts're not wrong, good. Anyway, a few pple also went up to ask mr. lee about that qn: yun tao, liming, ws (from his desk) for instance. Great minds think alike, or fools seldom differ? Oh yeah. Ws got niaoed by mr. lee, as other than that 4 marks off, he made another mistake somewhere, n he just passed. Mr. Lee wrote " *cough* " besides his marks. Ha ha.

Shadowing skills're getting worse n worse. Tried to follow gloria along that slip-road in the morn, when we both arrived at the same time. Very soon, she realised that someone's following her behind. She couldn't make out who that's, so she turned into the sch field, n walked quickly towards lights from the sch. Ha ha. She only knew it's me when I shouted out "di di". Erp.

GP today: ha ha. Everyone looked so tired, down, gloomy, sian, so mrs goh asked the chs guys (n girl) to stand in front n do our ba1 jie2 chao1. Ha ha. Sadly, that din wake us up, n we only showed some signs of energy when she told us stories. Afternoon isn't a good time for a gp lesson, esp when there's soccer before that.

Mugging being a form of escapism? Quite true actually, iseneh?

Start of the second wk...

Some things that have happened will never fade away with time

Wrote my first entry in my class's diary! Woohoo. During phy lect some more. Hopefully, can look back and laugh at all the things that my class wrote at the end of this yr...

Anyway, my bro took a photo of me when I was sleeping in the car ride home... jeff him lah.

Insignificant things, however small, are those that make life so wonderful, so beautiful

Used quite a sarcastic tone when irene leong showed some of us her detergent-infested hands. Said something like "that's nice". Ha ha.

Anyway, shocked some of my class when I demanded for paid maternity leave , when the class treasurer (yong kang)'s collecting debts today.

Changes happen all the time, for the better or worse we shall see

Try this new layout for my entry. Interesting...

New mac user using mac messenger to spam... Mr. Lee! Ha ha. Welcome to the community of spammers! More fun, bewilderment, and irritation.

New class t-shirt! Ha ha. Thanks yc!

Things that have passed have passed. No use looking back or wondering...

Interesting...

Shocks, shocks, shocks...

Some shocks during the weekend.

1. Man Utd drew nil-nil against some exeter team from conference.

2. Misplaced two of my bio tutorials: cell division n lipids.

3. Crappy day. Not in a really good mood since the afternoon. Have to MOVE ON!!!

4. Din know how to draw helianthus leaf. Sian... Looking it up now. Images on google aren't that clear.

5. Started first order diff tut TWO, but felt sian after starting the second qn.. sigh.

6. Man Utd drew nil nil.

7. Kezman scored.

8. Got my mum to cut me hair yesterday. Quite, since I don't normally show much initiative in getting a hair cut. Must be the influence of foo-lam.

9. Man Utd drew nil nil.

10. Bro's email account hacked into.

Some shocks during the last wk:

1. Man Utd drew nil-nil TWICE!

2. Wonderful maths tutor. Marked 1 qn unfairly, and only 30s with us. Great start to j2 maths.

3. Actually stayed back quite late to help the juniors paint their banner, considering I din even help, in any way, my own class' banner. My first banner in 12 months of jc life... Not bad.

4. Foo-lam as tutor. Ha ha. At least she's much better than mdm yeo.

5. Soccer everyday, in spite of the 3 tests in 4 days.

6. Man Utd drew nil nil again...

7. Mugging from the first day, even before sch starts.

Don't be doltish. Life's great, iseneh?

What do u get when u mess with a good-for nothing and a pain-in-the-neck?

A good pain in the neck for nothing.

Last day of orientation + mugging...

Yesterday: last day of orientation. Stayed back for the cca n campfire after sch... basketball first, so i was quite wet (drenched's a better word) when I went for band. Despite being a few mins late, I was still the earliest in my section. Ha ha. Band pract: quite tiring... nvm. Then, rushed down from the band room after pract, only to find the band room locked. So, went class bench. Shouldn't have done so, as my instrument was still with me. So, they all crowded me n grabbed for my instrument. Ha ha. Was quite impressed with the tone ms n gloria produced on the mouthpiece n barrel actually. Just too bad that they can't do the same on the instrument.

Campfire: some of the performances are not bad. It got interrupted due to the rain, and it continued in the hall. Finally, the fireball. Not bad, just not enough kerosene.. sigh. Anyway, singing n dance session after that. Absolutely wonderful to see all the pple inc my classmates huddling together, singing the songs. Though it'll be better if we noe the lyrics. Anyway, dance session. One of the rare dance sessions which I have participated in. Danced with andrew, n enjoyed one of the dances where the boys are supposed to boo, n the girls are supposed to scream later. Ha ha.

Later on, went to mac with my class n the juniors. Played whacko then. Still quite surprised that I haven't heard pple asking who mei mei's, though I heard from the rest that some of our juniors may have asked... Do pity my angel n mortal a lot...

Foo-lam came to our class today for the last 25 mins. Not bad. She isn't that fierce after all. Ha ha. Told her something peculiar about myself, that i've a guy for my angel n my mortal.. she said she doesn't care. Ha ha.

That reminds me of the gp lesson on thur... Not bad. Some ok role playing. Wj's ws, tearing, n doing some maths qn.. I forgot how to get from 1 step from the other. Ha ha. Whatever.

Anyway, today: din go to paint band banner. Not feeling that well... Woke up at 1045! Ha ha. Missed 1 half of pokemon. Sigh.... Happy mugging today! Did quite a bit of work.

Thursday, January 06, 2005

Great day!

Stayed back after sch today for great fun! Ha ha. Some nice soccer and basketball, before watching the station games. We (yc, ws, liming, wj, yong kang, joel n me) went to support the juniors at the staton games. One nice game "sockee", which's something like captain's ball, is played on the field. No idea of the rules, but nvm.. Our juniors lost.. sigh. Then, watched them play "jumping jack n jill". They won! Ha ha. Anyway, we also played the jumping game (after all the games've ended). Not bad.. won quite many games. A nice activity during breaktimes! Ms joined in later too, after supposedly going to the library. Saw one of my former tuition friends too (in nj now). Nice. Then, the juniors returned, n they went to prepare their banner n skit, while we went to buy dinner for them. Stayed back to help them with the banner. My very first banner!!! Great! Nvm. The juniors can play soccer well! Quite a few tricks, n their touch's nice. Hope we don't get thrashed when we meet them on the field.

Weird... some maths olympiad program teacher went to look for me after morning assembly today to ask me if I'm interested to join the mop this yr. Erp. It's nice of him, but if i don't even want to go for the selection test, don't think i'll want to take part in mop.

Campfire tmr... Staying back another night!

Tiring...

Bio test's quite draining, at least the revision part.. sigh. Was crapping away with yk n vernon mainly, n to a slightly smaller extent, ms, laura n gloria, during maths. Ha ha. Just din feel like studying for bio then... Anyway, maths tutor just gave us one free period! Ha ha. She returned us our scripts (wonderful efficiency), n i was a little pissed with the way she marked 1 qn. Just did the qn in a diff way, without the qn stating "hence", n she took 4 marks off (out of 50) as method used is not the same. Whatever. Not important.

Met juniors today! Woohoo. Knew only one of them (qu kui) before, whose blog link should be somewhere here soon...

Thanks all those who participated in my online poll! Interesting results. Shall release it some time later.

Anyway, some weird plans: deliberately failing chem test tmr (have to think of how to make sonky know that i can do n yet still get the ans wrongly), n crashing into orientation after sch... pls bring home clothes n sandals!

Good things happen in alternate weeks... enough said.

Last 3 days, reached sch very very early: before 6.30, with mon being 6.05. Ha ha. All my bro's fault...

Band today: first practice in about 2 wks. quite alright, but tiring... Justin joined back band today. Ha ha. Both good n bad. He's definitely a good player despite not playing for quite some time, but geling him with the rest of the section's still hard.

Tuesday, January 04, 2005

Whatever...

Shall not stay here for very long.. bio test tmr. ha ha.

First bio tutorial today: by mrs tan, who's relieving mrs foo. Equal the strictness, but twice the size. That's what mrs foo's compared to mrs tan.

Maths test today... Er... Some really open cheating going on. I was checking my answers with yong kang. Ha ha. We had diff methods of today, so, hope ms ng doesn't noe...

Anyway, played soccer till quite late, around 4.30pm.. Whatever. Shall mug till quite late today.

Meeting the juniors tmr! Ha ha. Pls bring ur sec sch uniform if u want! Hopefully, our juniors're something like us, though one thing's definite. There won't be half a class of chs guys.

First day of school...

First day of school. Must have been one of the earliest to reach sch (6.05), cos first, the lousy weather, second, bro needs to reach sch for band by 6.30, n third, he wants a gd seat.. so, poor bro of his had to go to sch so early, on the left wings lights, and waited for other souls to turn up. When I reached school, some of the councillors were already there! Wow! Certainly impressive.

Glad to see all my friends again! Ha ha.

New class com. Me, jo, liming, joel, ws n yifeng retire for good! Ha ha. Curious curious... our chem rep's qi qi! Ha ha.

Anyway, mr, remedios (our phy), mr. lee (our chem) and ms ong (our bio pract) will still be teaching us this year! Great! New teachers are not bad too. We got bluffed that ang lai kuin (pls collect any spelling mistake)'s our new gp teacher, but it turned out that in fact, mrs goh (choir teacher i/c) was our real teacher. Quite nice, humorous, some degree of strictness n sarcasm... Hopefully, gp'll be a nice subject.

Din go chs for flag raising n din take part in chs sch song learning lessons in the hall. Ha ha. Band's supposed to perform a short piece for the teachers to walk into the audi to be introduced to the new j1s. So, went to the audi early, around 7.15, to prepare. Some admin problems: hard time finding the scores, but nvm. Overall, quite ok. Had to stay back to listen to mr. ang's speech, but enjoyed it! He hesitated before saying "family" correctly (after saying hwa chong) when he welcomed the new j1s. Ha ha. And think that's the only pronunciation prob he's solved. Not bad! Humanities is another word... Forgot whether there're any more words or not.

Interesting number of late-comers this morning. So many late! Ha ha.

Just heard, other than maths lect, we'll be having our lects with the rest for the faculty (s7). Interesting, n our first maths lect tmr!

Some soccer today: during lunch break n after sch (after pe). Not bad. As usual, a goal per day, no matter how many games. Whatever. Time to go back to hw...

This entry's quite fast to finish, probably becos i need to go soon... Have to finish 1 last qn of fluids (tip of iceberg), some eco n evo, study for maths test, study for bio test... sigh. What a start to the first day of school!

Sunday, January 02, 2005

Last day of hols...

K. Last day of hols. Back to school tmr.

Chatted with eric last night about subject combi. Found out that many of our juniors don't want to take triple science, but instead, go for pcme or bcme, cos they do not like or don't do well in any of the sciences. Ha ha. Interesting, but i don't think that's a gd reason to drop the sciences, as what makes them think that econs'll be better?

Told him about the new faculty system. A really doltish system, with bollocking names like apollo (we don't want failed missions), athenas n so on... why can't it be like gryffindor, hufflepuff n the rest that at least sound better?

Been raining heavily for the last few days. Raining cats and dogs the whole morning and afternoon... Sigh. NE monsoon, i think. Hopefully, no rain in sch tmr...

Have to be careful of my words. Don't want cats n dogs to start falling down on me... Just read some nonsensical book: nonstop nonsense, which's basically full of crap. Don't meddle with word wizards!

2004: review

Today's the first day of 2005! Hurray! Good news: a great year ahead for fun, laughter and joy (i sincerely hope so). Bad news: last year in jc.. a-levels, syf, blah blah blah. Don't want to spoil the mood.

Anyway, do some review of 2004, month by month:

January: First days in hcjc. Could still remember sticking around with my chs friends. Ha ha. We must have occupied at least half of the hall! Anyway, academic orientation first before the real fun starts.. Then, on the day of release of class, saw some familiar names: vernon: our seventh yr in the same class, and 11th yr together; ws, 4e classmate; kenny, yf n so on... Start of the many many class outings...

February: Is this when regular soccer starts? Ha ha. Nearly the most popular class activity during breaks n after school, besides bridge. Release of o-level results also in feb right? My memory's failing. Anyway, if it's, then ws got injured also after falling down a steep slope to pick up a tennis ball... Sigh. I was the one who introduced that ball... nvm.

March: Start of second term, wore sch u for the first time, and start of regular srp lectures. And the capriccio concert! Ha ha.

April: second band concert in thirteen days: combined with chs and string. Din really practise much, but nvm.

May: Start of my regular blogging activities..

June: Intense srp in the hols, second wk onwards, then got to rest on the last wk to mug for block test.

July: Block test 1, start of olympiads, then london! Ha ha. Missed the carnival.. sigh. Oh yeah: quit srp at the start of july, a decision which i've not regretted yet...

August: Missed 2 wks and national day; still having fun at london...

September: New blog, start of promos...

October: End of promos, can only slack a little due to olympiad.. sigh.

November: finally, olympiad has stopped! Can rest more, though there're band practs and tag. Oh yeah, my birthday!

December: band combined concert, class cip, counting down to 2005...

Noticed anything above? For the first two months, I seemed to write more, right? Probably because I'm writing this when watching the liverpool-chelsea game... Quite a fiery game!

2005's started!
