Scholarships... uni.... career...

Went for a career talk on fri on med and dentistry, and had two talks yesterday. The morning talk's quite fei, and the part that we went to consist mainly of some tkk prize presentation. Luckily, we're treated to a free lunch! :p No need to waste time trying to find food at suntec later on. Anw, the suntec seminar's much more interesting, though the exhibition's horrible.

After that, had dinner at tony roma's. Thanks mr. lee for treating us! Ms ong also came too. Dinner's still ok, despite the prise, though we really had some fun posing for picts and spinning that wheel of fortune. :p A few of us (me, gloria, jess, ms) were walking around many times, trying to find that wheel to play with, since after every time we played, some cashier'd remove it from us. Ha ha. Btw, jess tried to shift the blame to rj by claiming that rj's reputation's at stake or something, but she's still wearing the hc t-shirt!!! :p Oh yeah. That reminds me. Jess din have the pass to the seminar, and we'd to rely on some cunning n trickery to get an extra one for her.

Anw, won a free bbq half chicken voucher! Ha ha. Who wants it can always get from me hor. Don't think I'd go to tony roma's any time from now till september.

Btw, in the past few days, really did some serious thinking over which course I'd like to do. Finally, decided what I'm going to do. A two-prong approach for overseas n local's desirable. :p

Time travel's possible now. How one's daughter can be the same person as one's elder sister. :p

Bored...

Went to take the cambridge application form today, with jy, liming n glo (find out what the middle letter's between g and l). Think we're left a little stunned by the quality of the students who apply for top universities. Still, no harm trying, right? Anw, we're encouraged to apply to oxford instead of cambridge during yesterday's talk. As a result, there's a possibility of everyone going for oxford lor!

How to spend one and a half hours waiting for your dad to fetch you: return lib bks, mug, collect forms, and play some lame games! Tested the rate of typing of many ppl using calculator! We (cy, jy, wj and I) competed by seeing how many times we can press the calculator in 30s. Jy actually won lor! Not bad!

How lame can you get? Frighten my mum many times at home frequently. She always watches the tv in the dark (no lights) at night. So, scare her by standing in that dark corridor leading to the bedrooms, not too near to be detected, yet not too far to be missed, and since I'm a little dark, she always think that there's a ghost! Ha ha.

Arts fest... british council

Sigh. A tiring start to the wk. Arts fest concert on tue, despite the half-day off. Nvm. My last concert in jc, though I've never had one at such a terrible timing. Four gd performing grps putting up a concert, and the audi's less that half filled. Ha ha. Admin's fault lor. Reached home very late on mon n tue, n had little time to do much hw.

Went british council today with yc, ms n jy. Thanks to yc for driving us there! :p First time riding his car lor. Ha ha. Anw, read through many prospectus (someone pls tell me the plural form), and found out quite a bit on the courses. Was left a little flustered, since I'm still looking out for that right course n subsequent career option. Nvm. Still have some time left. Niaoing ppl's fun though! Ha ha.

A rather short entry that fails to convey entirely the events in the past few days... Fatigue's terrible.

Street soccer blues.....

Ha ha. Street soccer comp at youth park today. Lost all 3 matches. Nvm. Most important thing's to have fun, and gain some valuable experience! Thanks a lot to gloria and ms for coming down! Anw, was still a little... unhappy, about the rules. Conceded two penalties becos of that. Nvm. And the referee's so not professional lor! Calling and smsing someone during the matches, and gave out like 5 or 6 yellow cards in 1 match. Sigh. Whatever. Quite fun to hang out with everyone, since our matches only started at around 12, so we'd like 3 hours before the matches to crap n mug n have fun at long johns. Don't need to list down any crazy things that we do, right?

Btw, saw many friends there, like ks, boo, eugene, ying liang, joshua, n many others! Ha ha. Thanks mr. lee for letting us put our bags in his car! :p

Went for the us exhibition later on, with ms, jo n gloria. Quite an insightful trip, as we def knew more about us unis, but may not be so useful if I'm not going to apply for any of them. Was slightly disappointed to see that most of the unis din provide any prospectus, while being quite surprised to hear brit music being broadcast at the exhibition. Gloria n jo left after a while, before ws n joel came. Saw liming! Ha ha. Have to say, joel's bro looked very very diff from him!

Trying very hard not to write any scandalous stuff here.... Hope I've done a gd job!

Not bad. Stacy decided to change her dental appointment date to play for arts fest. That's the spirit lor, mallery n sheryl! :p Do come n support us, everyone! Ha ha.

Latest news: Mr. Lee just said that the two teams that thrashed us 4-0 and 5-0 finished first and second!!! Ha ha. We provided gd practice for them lor! Not bad. Great job, everyone!

I passed!

Ha ha. Passed my pilot test, despite flopping one session! :p But, don't think I'd be applying for it, since being a pilot doesn't really suit me.

Anw, soccer game tmr. Come down n support the hc team! Ha ha. Hopefully, can play a few matches, and not get knocked out immediately.

Scholarship day

Dissection of rats's fun! Ha ha. Would have been much better if we din mutilate the brain tissues when removing the skull, and if others din accidentally poke the large intestine. :p Ms ong's to eat several mentos when doing the demo. Ha ha.

Ct photo taking today. Failed to get the two cip ppl to sit together, alone, at the front, while the guys finally realised that girls can be very very violent. Some of the girls shoved and pressed on the guys during one of the informal shots, when the guys're squatting at the front lor. Luckily, the ppl behind me, ms and jess, are more guai than some others. :p

Talking about photo-taking. There's a mass session after morn assembly for everyone and the students. Many teachers looked a little hesitant to join in the crowd, while many of them got squashed at the back. Band members just formed two rows at the side! Quite sparstic actually, as not many of us're enthu about this.

Scholarship day. Quite boring, since they used nearly the same presentation as that I heard in june, while spf talk's interesting, but unfortunately, it's not what I want. Then, the talk by the panel of former hc students's mainly a self-introduction session for them. Ha ha. Anw, exhibition later. Managed to get some free goodies, and I'm still quite surprised that the girls carried three or four bags each late into the audi. Looks as if they've just done some shopping! Btw, reception's not bad!

Went for band at six, only to find out that band's just ended! But heard they din play very well... Nvm. Anw, pls come for arts fest concert next tue!

Hw piling up...

Guess everyone's focusing on their studies now. Fewer ppl online, fewer updates of blogs. Sigh. Have fun mugging, everyone! Still have repro in humans to tackle in the next few days. :p

Anw, chem quiz today, for which very few ppl study, and some ppl, like me, are even not sure of the topics tested. :p So, could hear ppl whispering to one another during the quiz, and when rudy lee told us to stop talking, many of us laughed. Working with others for the common good of mankind's fun! Nvm. It's just a quiz!

Saw this scandalous couple during sectionals today. Can see david's very anxious to get a closer look at them! :p

Btw, simple way to get wen li freaked out: tell her that in the HBP, who's the person who killed (someone) and how, and tell her the (somebody) who's not going back to (some place) in the (something) bk. :p

Band... chem s...

Ha ha. Chem s yesterday lasted till EIGHT!!! :p Whole place's quite dark liao when we got out, though I heard it's much worse at nine...

More band practices nowadays, to prepare for arts fest next wk. Screwed up our choice piece today, since many ppl playing the solos weren't here, and it just din feel right playing w/o the base part or other parts. Ha ha. Stopped playing the last few parts of the clarinet solis, as I just couldn't help but laugh. :p It's wen li who laughed first lor! Anw, band everyday now, up to next tue. Though fri's scholarship day!

Racial harmony day tmr. :p

So slack!!!

Can't believe math s only lasted for less than half an hour today. Wtj lor. The slackest s paper now. Though phy's even more... terrible. No sessions last wk, and likely no session this wk too (scholarship day till 6 plus). Ha ha. Who cares?

Quite tired... Just want to say, have fun mugging, everyone! :p

Harry potter blues...

Ha ha. The sixth bk released yesterday. Heard that it rox! Anw, tried downloading the text version using limewire (one of the few p2p software that's compatible with my old and outdated mac). Ended up with some... interesting n crappy results. Waste of a few hours time. Nvm.

Anw, some lame online wrote this:

Voldemort: DId hagrid tell you how your father died?
Harry: He said that you killed him, you murderer!
Voldemort: No. I am your father.

Luck's just not on my side...

What a day. Found out that my name's been spelt wrongly, not once, but twice, on the programme booklet for college day. Wtj lor. First, they added three letters to my christian name (ppl're always assuming that my proper name's a short form). Then, they just changed my sir name in another section, from w to u. Sigh.

Then, was caught by lee ck for playing soccer in the left wing. Only played for a min, before being caught. Nvm. The comical part's when qk was also caught, even though he's not touched the ball! Ha ha. And he's to put the ball under his photoc teacher's (mdm ching) desk and go explain matters to her on mon, not forgetting that he may have ms ooi to answer to too. :p Just bad luck.

Anw, saw many students doing cip via some flag day today. Surprisingly, for the first time ever, I was not asked to donate even though I walked right past a few of them. Even saw a few sitting down onto a bench with that tin can, while others just asked ppl half-heartedly. Don't really think that's the right way to do cip lor, even when flag day's one of the slackest ways of earning cip hours.

Btw, college day today, or awards presentation day. Quite boring n sian lor. Just played two songs and had to sit thru the principal's and the g.o.h's address. Waste of time. And many band ppl din turn up lor. No flutes or oboes, while for my section, only 3 seniors came. Ha ha. Whatever. Don't think the seniors'd play in the arts fest. :p I'm pretty sure the clarinets can survive with only 2 members, 1 of them being a conductor too!

Friday, July 15, 2005

Vieira...

News of the day: vieira moved to juventus for around 14 million pounds. :p Hopefully, arsenal'd just collapse without their skipper.. (evil grin)

One thing drives out another, and the only thing I can remember today's the A* talk. Went there late after playing bball, but found out that I din really miss much. They din really tell us anything new or interesting, except the sat criteria, and that they offer sch up to PhD level (with some condtions, definitely). Ha ha. Nvm lor. Ended rather early.

Can't believe I dozed off on my desk at SEVEN, doing normal distribution. Wtj.

What a waste of time!

Stupid college day rehearsal yesterday. Wasted around two hours of our time. Initially, we're supposed to play on the stage, though later on, mr. ang said we had to go to the back of the audi n play there. Damn. As a result, we had to wait for the entire thing to be over before we can rehearse the moving out. Wtj lor. As if anyone needs to practise how to move out. So, wasted a few hours lor. Then, played soccer with some bandmates outside the toilet (erp) and at the netball court. Practised some keeping at the stairway. Alwyn and yi hui took turns to pass and shoot, while I stood guy at the stairway. Some improvements still need to be made, but, should be ready for sat's game! Though i still can't stand some of the rules, like not being able to receive backpasses, and all goalkicks've to be kicks! Wtj.

Bball on mon, tue n today's very tiring. Ha ha. Shall go cut my finger nails. Sorry cy! :p

Btw, yesterday, phy lect. The lecturer only asked those sitting behind to copy lor, since they remarked that they'd some prob seeing. That means we'd about 10 to 15 mins of slacking time, though for some reason, many others sitting in front still copied lor. :p Btw, that paper, prelim 03 paper 3, is available on ivle.

Oh yeah. Some 7b ppl complained that I niaoed them rather openly on my blog. Shall show more restrain in the future! :p

Anw, ws'd to take this extra test during his ns checkup. Those ppl asked him funny qns like whether he's any children, any children unaccounted for, any children aborted. Ha ha. Don't think I'll niao anyone here. :p

Band farewell party!

Ha ha. Band farewell party rox! :p Great food, great games, great fun! Besides the "official" programme, my table started playing bridge and hard attack before the event started. :p Btw, never knew that girls're so so afraid of millipedes. Nvm. Don't niao so much. Thanks everyone for the presents, and hope everyone enjoyed the night! Managed to buy beer, even though I'm still under the min age. Oh. And so many ppl're late! Ha ha. Whatever. Shouldn't have reached there so early... Could have done chem s in that hour of waiting.

So, this yr ipho team rox! 3 goals, 2 bronzes, and singapore was fifth overall! We even beat us! Ha ha. Btw, this's singapore's best result in 17 yrs. Congrats!

Urgently need some sleep. :p Bball for the past two days's, n mugging chem s in one night... exhausting.

Monday, July 11, 2005

A quick update...

Would have written more if there isn't any chem s. (Btw, math s's so SLACK!!! Lasted only till 6.30...) Completely screwed now. Nvm. Only two hours plus to complete 6 qns.

Anw, band farewell party yesterday. Shall write more about it tmr. Just want to say, really nice to see ppl encountering their fear, esp if it's just about to be thrown onto you! Millipedes aren't that scary, right? Thanks for all the presents!

Friday, July 08, 2005

Sigh...

Hw piling up now. :p Shall aim to finish transition metals (both), issues and ideas, g n d n asexual repro this weekend! Ha ha. Will work hard now!

Anw, college day rehearsal today. Only 3 seniors in my section came lor. Ha ha. Nvm. Fun part's when david's to take out his broken specs and use it; he's supposed to stop us (playing) when the g.o.h's at his seat. Everyone laughed when he got his specs out and tried to squint through the only side present on it. Damn cute lor! Oh yeah. Served as doorman. :p So many mistakes. One: took the wrong way, and got out thru the main door. Next, din close the door gently (just let it go), leading to a bang. Hopefully, won't make any mistake that day.

Btw, j2s no longer needed to go down for morn assembly. Quite interested to see how wen li'd cope when david's conducting. Solo clarinetist! Ha ha. Talking about wen li. A few of us (charmaine started it first) insulted her feminism, and I din help much by adding more... ethanol and propanoic acid and benzene and other organic fuels. Then, she pretended to be damn sad lor, and started sulking. Ha ha.

Wtj

Was totally stunned by the attacks on London earlier in the day. A few blasts at the underground and in a bus. Sigh. It's just one day after the ioc announcement lor, and will definitely dampen the mood. Though, don't really think the attacks are due to ioc, as I do not believe those terrorists're so efficient to attack the c'try that won the bid right after yesterday's session. Whatever. Terrorism must be stopped.

More band pract. Ha ha. Until college day lor. Hopefully. Surprisingly, not many ppl, or very few of the students, know when college day's. Rather shocking, considering that we've been in hci for so long. Nvm. Anw, ee suan and I had so fun announcing to wen li that she's the new sl of the clarinets and flutes section. Quite impromptu, yet we still managed to tell her that word by word, each of us taking turns to say a word. Not bad! :p

Oh yeah. Nice chat with jun rong just now. Concluded that when doing maths, guys're more daring, while girls're more careful. :p

Nice gp lesson today. Comp lab. A rather slack lesson, as we just needed to summarise three articles into a single page. After that, many of us just went to play around, either by going online, surfing the net, or playing card games like hearts. :p Shhh... Don't tell mrs goh that! Ha ha. And I definitely prefer mac messenger. NIcer and simpler layout, and faster spamming.

Really have to start doing hw now.

Second law of thermodynamics...

Confirmed: London 54 Paris 50. Really close lor. :p

Ha ha. Just remembered. Think the bio dept desperately need some crash course in thermo from any chem or phy teacher. Fancy saying that the second law of thermo states that there's no free lunch!!! Wtj. And remember last yr, they also gave some crap definition for the same law. Ha ha. I noe it won't matter much in exams, and will prob be of some entertainment value, but still, it's really.... jeffing.

London 2012!!!

Ha ha. Great! London rox! :p Watched the ioc session today from six plus, plus a few snapshots of the presentations earlier on. Would have watched more if there's no bio lect. Nvm. One of the closest races in ioc history. Really down to the last round between london n paris (moscow, ny and madrid got knocked out in that order). May be the only time that ioc session's held here, so everyone should watch it! One more reason to go uk, not necessarily london, in 2008. But, you never know...

More about ioc. Can someone tell me how puny the winning margin's? Thanks. Deprived of the tv after hogging it for around 2 hours...

Waiting for the accursed bus sux. THIRTY MINS!! It's not like it's at peak hours or something. And we're talking about a bus to woodlands, not downtown. Wtj. Totally pissed.

Oh yeah. Just remembered the numerous interesting ads before the movies on mon. Some really no link lor. The scenario and the product just do not match for many. Nevertheless, nice entertainment value!

Can't log in to ivle. Wtj. Why does the password have to expire after 120 days???

PIlot test...

So, went for pilot test this morn. Was expecting it to be quite fun, like some computer game or something. So, reached there before 8. Sigh. Din get much sleep lor. It's impossible to sleep standing on the mrt train. Nvm. Saw daniel ling! Ha ha. Found out from him that saf invited a few thousand ppl, and they'd only select some less than hundred. Nvm. Overall, it's NOT FUN, and VERY TIRING, especially when you have to maintain some damn cross on the target, using joystick and ur feet, for 90s, three consecutive times. Sigh. Screwed up a section on flying a plane through boxes, though I'm still pleased with my level of concentration. For that particular section, hits: 11 Misses: 0. Not bad. But, that's the only section I did well. Other sections, just screwed up lor. Concentration part just involves spotting any figure which has the same shape as that in the left column, and same colour as that of the box at top. Quite simple. Just spot the colour, and if the colour matches, check the shape. Slept during the personality test and the second half of the session. Basically just dozed off for a min, then woke up abruptly. Ha ha. Whatever. Oh yeah. Managed to have two more attempts for the cross thingy, as there're some probs with the keypad. Got a 6 out of 10 in the last run to pass for the first time! Ha ha. Nvm. Never intend to be a pilot. But, the souvenir rox! Some plane model with a built-in clock. :p

Omg. So many ppl online now. Ha ha. Pls remember that there's bio lect tmr!

Chalet rox!

Ha ha. Class chalet from sun to tue. Not sure how I should write this entry, from the most memorable event, or in chronological order... Nvm. Just type.

Sun: did shopping for a while. Would definitely have bought some alcoholic drinks if parents weren't with me. :p Went laura's house after that, and played x-box! Some racing game in which I was lapped by laura's brother. Ha ha. Fetched vernon, before going to ecp. Journey would have been much better if there's no inertia. It's like, we'll always move forward before stopping, and move backwards before accelerating forwards. Then, around the bends.... u noe. So, reached costa sands quite early, and waited for the rest of the pple after checking in. The ppl who used the room before us must have been man utd fans; there's this flag with "red devils" written on it outside the door. Ha ha. Anw, would have been much better if there's air con in the living rm too, but nvm.

After the rest of them came.... oh my. What did we do??? Ha ha. Soccer or kite-flying, right? Played with some malays, and got hammered. :p Later, when more ppl arrived, we went to look for the ppl at the beach. Qiqi's kite got stuck on a tree! So, after that, just slacked around there, before going back to play more soccer till dinner time. Have to say, at least the sandcastle some of us built had some form, though it still looked very much like a hill lor. :p

Oh yeah. Ws got niaoed for being late for the umpteenth time! :D

So, dinner. Bbq! Never knew cooking can be so fun. (I din even prepare any meal when mum's not around during the hols... nvm) Was quite pleased with the stuff I cooked (din burn anything horribly), though it's very hard to cook the head of the small drumstick completely. The only junior who came, cy, performed admirably as the butter boy. Not bad. He had bio on tue, yet he stayed still noon on mon. That's the spirit! It definitely beats mugging even before the hols.

After bbq, some went cycling, some played mahjong, while a few slept. It's just not fair that the girls kept winning, and vernon and ken only had a few wins. Btw, thanks jiayi for settling supper for us! :p Though everyone's to drink more water to prevent hypertension. At two plus, most of the bikers came back, and so some of us went to the beach to stone. Thanks qiqi for the sparkles! The fun part's when qq ignited some rocket booster thingy (two of them). Even though they failed to take off, the after-effects're nice! The wind blew thick clouds of smoke right into a few tents lor! Won't be surprised if the psi reading there's above 100.

So, after lighting up and attempting to throw some sparkles into the sea, we went to sit on a... what do u call that??? Sea wall? Whatever. So, just slacked there. Had some fun chatting. We even talked about our future careers, and took turns in guessing each of our jobs, which reminded me that I better start planning and thinking now! Sigh. Then, there's this sand fight on the beach, and it's not fair that the beach's sloping downwards. Couldn't sense any invasion... Nvm. Not bad. Most of us din sleep at all, and we lasted till 6 plus. Went back to prepare breakfast, and most of us had some sleep after that. Still trying to figure out who locked the bedroom door. Locked me outside lor! Ha ha. Din intend to sleep, but the tv shows're so boring. No kids central yet. Nvm. Finally slept at the table for 45 mins. :p

Eh... soccer after that, right? Ws finally put up a man-of-the-match performance! :p Then, finally started learning cycling! Really have to thank liming n jas, not forgetting cy and others who're there. :p Will try to cycle further next time! And jo ah. Just wanted to try cycling since cy's there trying too. Ha ha. Subunit cooperativity lor! Then, we went for lunch, movie and dinner at tampines. Watched war of the worlds, which would be so cool if the machineries're used for other purposes... The rest watched initial d (d for drifting of phospholipid molecules... nvm) and batman. Arcade rox!!! Ha ha. We all had fun blasting pucks to the other end of the table. :p It's really a game to see who's more violent and aggressive. Then, did some shopping, before dinner. Oh yeah. The 4 guys and two girls kept the rest of us waiting for so long lor! Ha ha.

After dinner, went back, and packed up. Played a few games of mahjong before leaving with ms. Pilot test tmr. Great. At least we managed to find the underpass to shorten the walking dist by half, and found our way to the bus stop. Ha ha. Our sense of direction rox! :p Took 36, before dropping off at parkway and waiting for around 20 mins for 966. And I still can't believe that I slept less at home compared to others at chalet. Wtj.

Pilot test tmr. Hoping to have some fun then!

Saturday, July 02, 2005

End of bt!!!

Ha ha. No more bt. Ever. :p Isn't that great? Can finally get some sleep, rest, and slacking time.

Don't think I shall say anything about bt. No point bringing it up. Just enjoy the remaining few days of holidays!

Is bt good? Well, not the mugging part. But it does give u a great excuse to just relax and slack, after all the papers. Playing more than 2 hours of bball's damn tiring, and the weather din help much. A little frustrated when my conversion rate dropped to less than 10 percent. Nvm. Shall continue throwing three-pointers even though most of them came up short! Dinner after that at ps. Quite interesting when the guys knew something scandalous that the girls din noe, when the girls also knew something that the guys din noe, and when I knew both of them. Ha ha. Have to say, the guys' info's much more valuable. :p

Oh yeah. Yesterday's one of the lamest days lately. Never knew studying chem just before the paper can lead to discussion of other subjects, and the train ride home's enjoyable too, esp when that moth in the train flapped its wings...

Chalet tmr. Shall have some fun! (evil grin)
